StarLadder Major Outright Winners – Best Bets
Let’s jump straight in to the top picks for the StarLadder major. These are the teams that we think are most likely to win the event based off of their recent performances in other offline and online events.
2.75 Odds @ Betway
This superstar team of NA players are on unbelievable form right now. They have snatched the title of best team in the world away from Astralis, a team which was considered unbeatable just last year.
Their recent results showcase a running of 1st place events, beating other favorites sometimes 2 or 3:0 in BO3 matchups. Most recently, Liquid defeated ENCE in a BO3 to win IEM XIV in Chicago. They are the best pick for the major, in my eyes.
4 Odds @ Betway
This Danish roster has had an impressive run in the past, 2018 can largely be claimed as the Year of the Dane. There was seemingly no stopping Astralis due to their impenetrable defenses on maps such as Nuke. 2019 has shown a different story so far as it seems their ability to crush major opposition has slowed as they have lost out to teams such as Vitality and Liquid in bigger tournaments.
Astralis will be looking to get their reputation back and StarLadder is a great way to prove that they are still top dog.
7 Odds @ Betway
This French roster has achieved huge success as of late, ZyWOo, the world-renowned youngster has provided a new lease of life for the French scene. They can bring a game to the likes of Na`Vi, Liquid and Astralis but have found trouble during anti-eco and force buy rounds. I’d imagine that in the buildup for the Major, their coach has been focusing on improving these rounds as they can cost a team heavily in BO3 environments.
This is a riskier choice but overall, they could pull a win out of the bag.
The map pool used for this tournament will be the standard competitive pool. This includes the following maps:
- Dust 2
The total prize pool for the Valve sponsored event is $1,000,000 dollars with $500,000 going to the winning team.
